August 3 - Full Return to On Campus Operations
August 12 - Classes Begin (Full and Session I)

Our safe return to campus in August relies on everyone—faculty, staff, and students—taking responsibility so that we may continue to thrive on campus. Return to Campus plans and procedures have been developed in close consultation with the University System of Georgia (USG) and follows the guidance of public health authorities.

Preventative Measures

Social Distancing - General

MGA will adhere to 6’ social distancing guidelines throughout campuses, except for student rooms within the residence halls. We ask that you always be mindful of other people’s spaces and make a conscious choice to maintain distance. New signage will be available to guide you.

Visit Campus Guidelines for more info on social distancing.

Social Distancing - Classrooms

In most classrooms, seating will be configured to support social distancing. Face-to-face classes will look different, depending upon classes and subject areas. A number of options are available, and faculty members will use the approach best suited to their classes. Carefully review your syllabus, D2L announcements, or email for details.

In a small number of cases, social distancing in the classroom may not be an option. Click here to view a list of those exceptions.  If you are in one of the listed classes or meet in one of the listed spaces and have concerns, contact your instructor, advisor, or department chair to discuss alternative options.

Face Coverings

Cleaning And Sanitation

Visit Campus Guidelines for more info on intensified cleaning and sanitation efforts.

Daily Wellness Check and Screening

All MGA students and employees should administer the COVID-19 daily self-screening questions found here before coming to campus each day.  If you reply YES to any of the questions in the checklist, stay home. If you begin to feel ill while on campus, you should immediately go home.

On-Campus Student Life

 Dining Services

Dining Services will reopen with a new dining contractor and several additional procedures in place, including social distancing signage, physical barriers and sanitizing stations, seating limitations, and pickup/to-go options.

More information will be provided from the new dining contractor soon.

Housing/Residence Life

Social distancing practices are not expected within a room or suite, and the university cannot guarantee students will be free from risk of exposure to COVID-19. Students who are at a higher risk for severe illness as defined by CDC/ GDPH should carefully consider whether moving into a residence hall is the appropriate option, and they may obtain an exemption from MGA’s Residency Requirement by following the directions found here.

Visit Residence Life for info on move-in, residence hall preventative measures, visitation policies and more related adjustments.

Student Life

The Office of Student Life will continue to plan events/activities where social distancing is possible. Attendees will be strongly encouraged to use face coverings.
