Join Us to Positively Impact Our Communities Through Service!

The MGA Day of Service is a special day each year when the faculty, staff, and students of Middle Georgia State University come together to positively impact our community through meaningful service within our communities.

Faculty, staff, and students sign up now for our MGA Day of Service: 

  • Pick an opportunity below and sign up or connect with opportunities through MGA Knight Life; or within your residence hall, club, team, department, or school.
  • Wear your purple MGA gear
  • Show up on time at your registered location
  • Show your MGA spirit through service
  • Snap photos and post on social media with #KnightsServe and email photos to vpsa@mga.edu

Macon Opportunities:

  • Bibb County Animal Services  - Help with facility projects, cleaning, walking and bathing of dogs, as well as snuggling of cat, etc.  (9am - 12pm). - Full - at capacity
  • Macon Campus Tree Planting - Help plant trees in the cherry grove.  (9am-12pm). Sponsored by MGA Facilities
  • Macon Campus Painting - Help paint furniture to put around the lake.  Sponsored by MGA Facilities
  • Macon Mental Health Matters - Community Garden -Help to clear a community garden to promote mental health in Middle GA; finish clearing the property; put beds together; and possibly plant a winter garden. Saturday September 23 (9am-3pm). Sponsored by Macon Student Life
  • Macon Habitat For Humanity - Sponsored by the BSW program & Housing & Residence Life
  • Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Drive - Donate non-perishable items needed for the ARMHC. September 18-22. Sponsored by the Department of Natural Sciences
  • Museum of Technology e-Waste Recycling Event - Drop off your unwanted devices at the MoT in the Macon Library or bring to PSC 330 (9am-12pm). Sponsored by the Museum of Technology.
  • Rainbow House Children's Resource Center - Donate items needed for the Rainbow House. September 21-30. Sponsored by MGA Health Clinic

Cochran Opportunities:

  • Knights Table Food Drive & Professional Clothing Drive - Donate to help MGA students. September 18-22. Sponsored by Cochran Housing & Residence Life
  • Georgia Canine Rescue & Rehabilitation -  email hope.fuquaduskin@mga.edu, if interested. Sponsored by Cochran Student Life
  • Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Drive - Donate non-perishable items needed for the ARMHC. September 18-22. Sponsored by the Department of Natural Sciences
  • Faith Temple Church Community Food Bank - sponsored by Knight Basketball.  
  • Cochran Elementary - sponsored by the Department of Nursing

 Eastman Opportunities:

  • Dodge County Food Bank - Pack food bags and load into vehicles as they arrive for their scheduled food pick up appointments and help clean/organize the thrift store. (9:15am - 12pm) - Only 15 spaces available. Sponsored by Eastman Student Life and the School of Aviation. 

Warner RobinsOpportunities:

  • Houston County Humane Society: Help clean the facility and walk and care for the animals. September 29 (9am - 12pm).  Full -At capacity
  • Warner Robins Campus: Help move obsolete IT equipment from storage into an enclosed trailer for turn-in. (9am-12pm). Sponsored by MGA Facilities
  • Rainbow House Children's Resource Center - Donate items needed for the Rainbow House. September 21-30. Sponsored by MGA Health Clinic

Other Opportunities:

  • Other - Want to volunteer somewhere else?  Sign-up and share where you will volunteer and send a picture of you volunteering in the 22nd.
