Biography:	I have been a social work educator, at the BSW and MSW level, for over 15 years. I love social work! Before joining the faculty of MGA in January of 2018 and assuming the role of BSW Program Director, I was a faculty member at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke (UNCP) for nearly five years and served as BSW Program Director. Before joining UNCP, I taught for six years as a faculty member of the UCF School of Social Work, and before that taught in the BSW program at Western Illinois University. Before discovering a passion for teaching, I worked in many areas of social work practice, including domestic violence and sexual assault advocacy, case management, and counseling with dementia patients and families, as a community-based therapist, medical social work, and hospice. My greatest interests in social work practice and research include policy and social barriers experienced by parenting students; the impact of disparities in breastfeeding on the attachment development between infants and caregivers; social justice efforts related to race, gender, sexual orientation, and gender identity; and environmental social work.
