| Biography: | Whitney Holmes is a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) with a strong background in athletic training and applied rehabilitation sciences. She serves as a Lecturer in the Rehabilitation Science Department and as the Director of Clinical Education for the developing Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Program at Middle Georgia State University. Mrs. Holmes's professional background includes experience in athletic training and sports medicine, where she worked with athletes on injury prevention, rehabilitation, performance enhancement, and safe return-to-play progression. Her clinical experience as a licensed PTA further strengthens her expertise in musculoskeletal rehabilitation, therapeutic exercise, and patient-centered care across a variety of settings. As Director of Clinical Education, Mrs. Holmes is responsible for developing and coordinating clinical partnerships, overseeing student clinical placements, and ensuring alignment between academic preparation and real-world practice expectations. She is committed to building strong relationships with clinical instructors and healthcare facilities to provide meaningful, high-quality experiential learning opportunities for students. In her role as Lecturer, Mrs. Holmes integrates real-world clinical application into the classroom, emphasizing movement analysis, critical thinking, professional communication, and evidence-based practice. She is passionate about preparing students to become confident, competent healthcare professionals who demonstrate accountability, integrity, and compassion in their practice. Mrs. Holmes is dedicated to fostering an engaging and supportive learning environment where students are challenged to grow academically and professionally while developing the character and skills necessary for long-term success in rehabilitation and healthcare fields. |
