| Biography: | Jessia Pipkin, COTA/L, has served as Lecturer in the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program at Middle Georgia State University since spring of 2022. During her tenure she has taught several different courses within the OTA program. Lecturer Pipkin graduated with her Associate of Science in Occupational Therapy from Middle Georgia College in 2007. She also holds an Associate of Science from Gordon College in 2005 and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Middle Georgia State University in 2016. Mrs. Pipkin has been a member of Phi Theta Kappa since December of 2003. Her clinical background includes geriatrics, mental health, and pediatrics. |

| Professional Experience: | Jessica Pipkin has served as a Lecturer in the OTA program since 2022. She came to this position with more than 6 years of previous teaching experience in the OTA program. Mrs. Pipkin began teaching in Occupational Therapy in 2010 in the OTA program at the then Middle Georgia College. During her tenure she taught Pediatric Therapy for the OTA as well as the OTA Media course. She also served one year as the Academic Fieldwork Coordinator. Lecturer Pipkin's background is in development and mental health throughout the lifespan. Clinically she has worked in geriatrics, mental health and pediatrics. She now draws from this experience to teach introduction to occupational therapy assistant, psychosocial practice, and adaptive techniques. Lecturer Pipkin is devoted to creating an interactive learning environment that fosters community and professionalism within the OTA program and OTA field of practice. |
