Biography: Dr. Swartz has been with Middle Georgia State University since 2020, working on development of the Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT) Bridge Program. She received a B.S. in Occupational Therapy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and a Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from Creighton University. She has extensive clinical and administrative experience, including inpatient rehab, acute care, therapy in a residential setting for individuals with developmental disabilities, acute care, driving rehabilitation, and program development. She also has experience with international therapy, and spent a year in Europe assisting with further development of physical rehabilitation in the country of Georgia. Previously, she was founding Program Director of an Occupational Therapy Assistant Program in the metro Atlanta area and a Research Scientist with Georgia Institute of Technology’s Center for Assistive Technology and Environmental Access (CATEA). Dr. Swartz also previously served as a Roster of Accreditation Evaluator with the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE).
