Investing in Education at Home and Abroad: The Shah Family Is Committed to Student Success
For more than 21 years, Dr. Manoj Shah and his wife have demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to education and community through their support of the MGA Foundation. Dr. Shah, a retired obstetrician, has long believed in the transformative power of education. In 2008, the Shahs established the Shah Family Education Scholarship to assist students from Houston County high schools attending MGA. Since its creation, the scholarship has supported more than 68 students, helping them remain in college and achieve their educational goals.
The Shahs’ belief in MGA's mission extends beyond scholarships. Their generosity launched the Dr. Manoj and Hansa Shah Study Abroad Program, a unique opportunity that allows MGA students to travel to India, Shah’s homeland, for a two-week immersive STEM program at Vijaybhoomi University in Pune. This year, nine MGA students participated in the inaugural trip, gaining global perspectives and academic experiences many may not otherwise have had the opportunity to experience.
Education has always held a special place in Dr. Shah’s heart. In addition to supporting higher education, the Shahs have made lasting investments in K–12 education through initiatives such as the Houston County Education Assistance Fund, which supports teachers who inspire creativity, innovation, and student passion. Their dedication is deeply personal, as their children are graduates of Houston County high schools.
Dr. Shah’s lifelong commitment to education, service, and community reflects his unwavering belief in expanding opportunities for student growth and success — both locally and globally.
MGA is deeply grateful to Dr. and Mrs. Manoj Shah for their generosity, vision, and enduring commitment to transforming lives through education.💜
