A reflection of growth, momentum, and enduring spirit

March has been an energetic and exciting month at MGA as we celebrated Alumni Week alongside Homecoming festivities. It was especially meaningful to recognize the many members of our faculty and staff who are also proud MGA alumni. Their journeys are a reflection of the growth, momentum, and enduring spirit that define our university today.

We also enjoyed the success of our 2026 alumni appeal, which invited graduates to give $26 during the month of March. Thank you to all who participated—your generosity strengthens the MGA community and expands opportunities for our students.

Philanthropic investment at MGA continues to deliver meaningful returns for our students, families, and the broader Middle Georgia region. A shining example is the Center for Middle Georgia Studies (CMGS), now thriving in its third year. Established through the generous support of the Peyton Anderson Foundation, CMGS serves as a vital partner to organizations across the nonprofit, governmental, corporate, philanthropic, and cultural sectors. Under the leadership of Dr. Kristie Roberts-Lewis, the Center leverages MGA’s academic expertise to address real-world challenges throughout our region.

To learn more about CMGS and the impactful work happening across campus, I encourage you to explore our podcast, Knight Mic. Hosted by Dr. Roberts-Lewis and MGA’s Director of Communications, Rick Devens, the podcast highlights the remarkable research, teaching, and talent that define MGA. Be sure to check out the latest episode, "The Weird World of Parasites!" Knight Mic Podcast: Middle Georgia State University.

And speaking of Rick Devens, you may recognize him from Season 50 of Survivor! As both an alumnus and a member of our MarComm team, Rick is representing MGA on a national stage, and we are proud to see him showcase the strength and spirit of our university community.

Looking ahead, we are excited to host the 12th Annual Knights Golf Tournament in support of MGA Athletics. The tournament will take place on Monday, April 13, at Brickyard Golf Club in Macon, with flights at 9:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., and a Texas Roadhouse lunch in between. All participants will receive a tournament gift and swag bag, with prize packages awarded to the top teams in each flight.

If you, your family members, colleagues, or friends enjoy golf, we would love for you to join us. Please see the link below for additional details and registration information.
