Caitlyn Thomas is pursuing a business degree to help her turn her love for animals into a vocation.

Full Name: Caitlyn Alizebeth Thomas.

Age: 19.

Hometown: Irwinton.

Residence: Dublin.

High School: West Laurens High, where she ran cross country and was team captain her senior year. She also was involved in the art club and prom club.

Family: Mother, Jillyn Baggett; dog, Missy.

Current Employment: Full-time student and student assistant on the Dublin Campus.

Degree Objective: Associate's degree in business administration.

Class Rank: Sophomore.

Primary Campus: Dublin.

Activities: "I am involved in the Dublin Campus Student Government Association. I served as the secretary my freshman year."

Career Goals: "After I obtain my associate's degree I want to study animal behavior. I am an advocate for abandoned animals and would like to work with shelter dogs to make them adoptable. I will teach them basic commands, fix behavioral problems and help them learn how to interact with other animals and people."

She chose Middle Georgia State College because ... "It was close to home and affordable."

The one thing that surprised her about Middle Georgia State was ... "The friendly atmosphere at the Dublin Campus."

Her favorite professor is ... "Dr. Troy Sullivan. I have taken four classes with him and have thoroughly enjoyed each one. I have completed computer applications, two accounting courses and 'Intro to Business,' all taught by Dr. Sullivan."

Her favorite place to study is ... "At home in my room."

One thing people don't know about her is ... "I originally wanted to be an art major and study graphic design. I like to draw, paint and create."

Her friends make fun of her because ... "I treat my dog as if she were my child. She is probably more spoiled than most kids."

The one person she'd most like to meet is ... "Angelina Jolie. She is an inspiring woman on and off the big screen."

Five years from now she sees herself ... "Living in or around the Atlanta area and running my own business where I work with local shelters and other animal organizations."
