The Middle Georgia State Foundation is hosting the First Knight Golf Tournament, presented by State Bank & Trust Company, on May 4, 2015, at Houston Lake Country Club in Perry.

One of the key strategies in strengthening the traditional undergraduate experience at Middle Georgia State was realized last spring when the athletic teams were granted membership into the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Southern States Athletic Conference. Middle Georgia State's first year as part of a four-year athletic program has been, by all measures, very successful.

The golf tournament, the first of its scope and size for the institution, will provide much needed support for Middle Georgia State's eight varsity athletic teams as MGA seeks to ensure its student athletes remain competitive.

The Foundation is inviting businesses and individuals to help Middle Georgia State build upon that success by taking advantage of one of the sponsorship opportunities. Teams of four are invited to register to play. Tournament proceeds will be made available to the college’s athletic department and used where most needed to keep our Knights successful on the field and in the classroom.
