Nicole Sikes is an intern with the Georgia Center of Innovation for Aerospace.

Full Name: Nicole L. Sikes.

Age: 22.

Hometown & Residence: Warner Robins.

High School: Houston County High, where she took part in the theater program and the Civil Air Patrol.

Family: "My parents, Terri and Alan, and my brother, Brandon, who recently transferred to Kennesaw State. Also, my boyfriend Colin, who applied with me to Middle Georgia State. Now we're both preparing to graduate!"

Employment: "I'm an intern with the Georgia Center of Innovation for Aerospace. It's really been a fun experience and has created a lot of opportunities for me. This internship provides me a chance to really dive into the aerospace industry. Keeping the website and Twitter feed up to date with current events really broadened my understanding of the aerospace industry and its impact on Georgia."

Degree Objective: Bachelor of Science in Business & IT with a concentration in Marketing.

Class Rank: Senior.

Primary Campus: Macon.

Activities: Vice president, Middle Georgia State Marketing Association.

Career Goals: "I'm ready to see where my opportunities take me. I chose a business degree because it's useful in every industry. I really enjoy marketing because there's a little psychology behind it; you have to put yourself in another person's shoes."

She chose Middle Georgia State because … "Many of my family members went to this school when it was still Macon Junior. Middle Georgia State was a good fit for me because it was the best quality, affordable education in the area."

The greatest thing she discovered about Middle Georgia State was … "The amazing professors. The faculty are so passionate about their subjects. Even though they're not in my field of study, professors Matt Jennings, Gaston Brouwer, Jim Sisson Shannon Riddle have been an inspiration. Professor Charlie Aiken introduced to me marketing and helped found the MGA Marketing Association for students."

Her greatest academic experience so far has been … "The summer I decided to take a calculus course with Dr. Brouwer 'for fun.' I never thought of math as my strong suite. I struggled with the advanced concepts and fast pace, but came out on top. It's a different experience to take a class because you want to and not because you have to. I made a B, but it was the most rewarding grade of my college career."

To her, greatness means … "Greatness is the continuous pursuit of self-improvement. Many people spend their time trying to change what they can't control. Only when we reflect change within ourselves can we begin to change the things around us."

One thing people don’t know about her is … "I have a lot of creative hobbies. I love to draw and play Dungeons and Dragons with my friends. I compete in Magic: The Gathering tournaments at the local comic shop."

The one person she'd most like to meet is … "Joy Bright Hancock. She started out at business school and went on to serve in the Navy during WWI and WWII. She was a key member of the WAVES and paved the way for U.S. women to serve their country. She faced a lot of hardships and broke down barriers for future generations of women."

In five years she see's herself ... "Living in Colorado and developing a career. In my free time I hope to explore the outdoors on horseback and to advance my artwork to the point where I can start my own webcomic."
