Armstrong State University alumni have selected Dr. Pamela Harwood Bedwell, now vice provost at Middle Georgia State University, as one of the most inspiring and supportive faculty/staff members of Armstrong’s 1996-2014 era. She, along with others selected for this recognition, will be honored on August 26 as part of the “Always Armstrong, Armstrong Celebration.” Bedwell's name will be included on a Wall of Gratitude that will be unveiled at The Alumni Center Open House on June 1, 2018.

Armstrong alumni are honoring former and current faculty/staff as the institution prepares to merge with Georgia Southern University in 2018. The consolidated institution will be known as Georgia Southern University.

In her Armstrong tenure from 1985 to 2009, when she left to join what is now Middle Georgia State as dean of the School of Education, Bedwell served in many roles, including department head, associate dean and graduate education coordinator. She is most proud of the work that culminated in the creation of student services, such as the Office of Disability Services, and in development of cross-discipline and multi-organization academic programs.
