Dr. Joanna Paliszkiewicz of the Economic Sciences department, Warsaw University of Life Sciences, teaches at MGA.

Thanks to Middle Georgia State's growing involvement in international exchange programs, an economics sciences professor from Poland recently spent a week at the University sharing her research in knowledge and trust management and in social media.

Dr. Joanna Paliszkiewicz of the Economic Sciences department, Warsaw University of Life Sciences (Szkoła Główna Gospodarstwa Wiejskiego w Warszawie) visited MGA from January 15–19 through the Erasmus+ program.

Erasmus+ (EuRopean Community Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students) give opportunities to non-European universities to partner with Erasmus institutions for participation in international exchanges.

"Through the Erasmus+ program and our exchange agreement with the Warsaw University of Life Sciences, we were able to welcome Dr. Paliszkiewicz for a week of guest lectures and meetings focused on her research," said Dr. Laura Thomason, MGA's director of International Programs. "She worked with about 45 students, who learned from her international perspective as well as her subject matter expertise."

In June, MGA’s Dr. Jonathan Yerby, assistant professor of Information Technology, will make a reciprocal visit to Warsaw University of Life Sciences.

Paliszkiewicz also teaches at the University of Vaasa in Finland. She is known for her expertise in management issues and has published more than 170 scholarly papers. She is the author or co-author of seven books.

She serves as the editor of Issues in Information Systems and as deputy editor-in-chief of Management and Production Engineering Review, an international journal.  She is vice president of the Polish Association for Production Engineering and Information Technology and of the Supply Chain Management Association. She also serves as chair of the committee for International Cooperation in European Business Club and as chair of the Peer Court of Scientific Association for Business Informatics.

Paliszkiewicz was named the 2013 Computer Educator of the Year by IACIS in the USA.  She is the recipient of a Lifetime Academic Achievement Award by the International Institute for Applied Knowledge Management.
