New Agreement with Delta-owned Endeavor Air Opens Another Pathway for MGA Aviators

A new agreement between Endeavor Air, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Delta Air Lines, and Middle Georgia State University (MGA) will be providing students with yet another pathway to a career in the pilot’s seat. MGA has become the newest participant in Endeavor’s STEP – Student To Endeavor Pilot – initiative.

STEP is focused on connecting students to the airline’s existing base of knowledge and experience. Endeavor representatives will be regularly visiting the University’s aviation campus in Eastman to provide guidance, answer questions, and conduct on-site interviews for students ready to make the move into the cockpit of one of the airline’s regional jets. Students who meet the program’s requirements can graduate straight out of MGA and secure a job interview with Endeavor.

“This is another terrific opportunity for MGA aviators,” said Adon Clark, dean of MGA’s School of Aviation. “A student can begin their pilot career at Endeavor and, if they desire, move into a pilot position with a larger international airline at a later date. STEP provides our students with access to a regional carrier who can guide them in the right direction and share with them the experience of being a line pilot.”

MGA’s involvement in STEP was kicked off at a small gathering at the MGA Eastman campus on Thursday, Nov. 1.

“At Endeavor, our goal is to help students at our STEP partner programs make informed, educated decisions about their futures in aviation from the first day they step foot on campus,” said Ginny Zarras, director, Recruitment and Talent Acquisition, Endeavor Air. “Adding MGA to our roster of partner schools shows that this program is committed to delivering unique pathways for their aviation students to prepare for the next ‘step’ in their career. We couldn’t be more excited to partner with MGA.”

Not only an incredible opportunity in and of itself, STEP compliments the Delta Propel program, which launched earlier this year with a kickoff event at MGA. Students selected for the Propel program may participate in STEP and join Endeavor to complete part of their requirements before moving to the Delta main line.
