MGA Knights Play Summer Baseball

Oh, those summer Knights!

Middle Georgia State University (MGA) is sending 16 Knights to play baseball for various collegiate leagues this summer, including three pitchers who are joining the Macon Bacon.

College/university baseball coaches often want their players to participate in “summer ball” to help them hone their skills and stay sharp. “We only send our guys to the best leagues and coaches,” said Sean Stevens, an assistant baseball coach for the Knights.

As of mid-May, these players were headed to various summer leagues:

Carter Oglageo: Macon Bacon, Coastal Plain League                                                

Steven Sams: Macon Bacon, Coastal Plain League                                         

Ethan Gill: Macon Bacon, Coastal Plain League                                                

Ben Randall: Lexington Flying Pigs, Old North State League                                             

Brodie Keener: Jacksonville Ospreys, Old North State League   

Teonis Pimental: Sandhills Bogeys, Old North State League

Justin Aponte: Sandhills Bogeys, Old North State League

Tyler Williams: Sandhills Bogeys, Old North Stage League                    

Seve Fernandez: Waccamaw Waves, Beaches Collegiate Baseball League                  

Everett Braswell: Alpharetta Aviators, Sun Belt League

Mikal Ashley: Oconee Wild Things, Sun Belt League  

Jonah Friedman: Southside Sharks, Coastal Collegiate Baseball League                    

Titus Richardson: Southside Sharks, Coastal Collegiate Baseball League                    

Isaias Espiritusanto: Johnstown Mill Rats, Prospect League

Robby Frederick: Anna Maria Tourists, Florida Gulf Coast League 

Gary Brannen: Sarasota Tigers, Gulf Shores Collegiate League
