Middle Georgia State University Reaches Highest Enrollment in School History

Middle Georgia State University (MGA) has reached the highest enrollment in its history, marking the University’s fourth consecutive semester of record enrollment and its eighth straight semester of overall growth.

A total of 8,828 students are enrolled for the fall 2025 semester, a 6.8% increase in new undergraduate enrollment highlighted by a 13% rise in transfer students. MGA also recorded its highest-ever overall and new graduate enrollment, while the percentage of students returning from semester to semester continues to climb.

Dr. Stephen Schultheis, MGA’s vice president for Enrollment Management, said the numbers reflect the University’s continued focus on student success and accessibility.

“Reaching another all-time high in enrollment speaks to the dedication of our faculty and staff,” Schultheis said. “Our team is committed to helping every student find a path to success. From expanding graduate programs to creating smoother transfer pathways, MGA is providing opportunities that are clearly resonating with students across Georgia.”
