poster as I walked down the corridor, appreciating the serenity in the moment. I went through the
entryway and got on Platform 2.

I heard a guy and a girl having conversation and her accent sounded extremely familiar.
She sounded like me.

“What part of the States are you from?” I asked.
         “Georgia. What about you?”
“I’m from Georgia too! My name is Kehli.”
“Oh cool! My name is Dominique. What are brought you to London?”
“I’m doing study abroad at University College. How about you?”
“I’ve been in London for an internship for two months, and I’m leaving in the next week.
What’s your major?”
“New Media and Communications. How about you?”
“I’m a Communications major as well. Small world huh?”
We laughed and took a Snapchat picture together. Just that small dose of Southern
comfort made me feel much better.
I got off at the Dalston Junction station. I found the exit escalator and rode up to the street
and my phone service came back. I typed “Arcola Theatre” into my Citymapper app and let it
take me around the bend. I took notice of the colorful murals on the buildings that I passed.
Vivid brights of cultural scenes lit up the sidewalks as I travelled closer to my destination. The
people that walked past were dressed in fashions that could be described as eccentric and retro. I
blended in with my orange dress and floral sandals. I belonged there. As I kept walking, I began
receiving messages from my professor who had attempted to locate me. I responded that I was at
the theatre entrance. She stated that everyone was at dinner and I could come to the restaurant.
