Biography: Dr. John Powell Hall is an Associate Professor of Political Science in the Department of History & Political Science at Middle Georgia State University. He completed his Ph.D. in Political Science at Auburn University, in 2014, specializing in U.S. Constitutional Law and American National Government.

Dr. Hall has been teaching political science since 2009 at Auburn University, Troy University, and Middle Georgia State University. Dr. Hall has taught undergraduate courses in American National Government, Introduction to Political Science, Global Politics, State and Local Government, U.S. Constitutional Law, Political Economy, Public Administration, U.S. Foreign Policy, and Research Methodology. Dr. Hall has taught doctoral courses in Public Administration, Legal Issues in Criminal Justice Organizations, and Public Agency Financial Management. Dr. Hall accepted a tenure-track Assistant Professorship at MGA in the Fall of 2015 and was awarded tenure in the Spring of 2021. Dr. Hall had the honor of serving as the Interim Coordinator for the Doctor of Science in Public Safety program at Middle Georgia State University from the summer of 2023 till the summer of 2025.

Dr. Hall is married to his amazing wife of seventeen years, and they have four incredible children together. When not researching within the subfields of political knowledge/political tolerance and U.S. Constitutional Law, Dr. Hall is spending time with his children and doing whatever his wife tells him to do.
