Weather Alert- Campus Updates for Friday (1/10/2025)

The Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA) has been tracking this week’s incoming storm system closely. GEMA has indicated that winter weather, including snow, sleet, and freezing rain, is likely on Friday with hazardous travel conditions beginning that morning.

To ensure the safety of our campus community members while still being able to serve our student population, MGA offices will be closed on Friday. Faculty and staff will be working remotely and will be able to assist you by phone and email. Essential personnel, including public safety, will be on campus during this time. Face-to-face instruction will be moved to virtual. Please contact your instructors for all alternate accommodations in specialized fields.

For our residential students, on-campus dining on Friday will be limited to brunch and dinner service in Georgia Hall and Camelot Court. The Recreation & Wellness Centers on the Macon and Cochran campuses will be closed on Friday.

The Knights Day party scheduled for Cochran on Friday will be postponed. The new date will be announced in the coming weeks.

Normal facility and service operations will resume on Saturday, Jan. 11. We will continue to monitor the weather and provide updates on schedules of operation as needed.
