About the Program
The Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Artificial Intelligence (AI) at Middle Georgia State University prepares students to succeed in a world where AI is rapidly reshaping how organizations operate and compete. With AI transforming fields such as healthcare, finance, education, cybersecurity, and beyond, the program equips graduates with both a strong grounding in AI fundamentals and the ability to apply those tools across disciplines.
This creates a distinctive “bridge” professional — someone who can translate between technical teams and sector experts, decode where AI adds value, and help integrate solutions into real workflows, decisions, and services.
Students tailor the degree through one of three concentrations to match their interests and career goals. The program’s flexibility is strengthened by 18 hours of open electives, allowing students to pair AI with an approved minor, curate a set of courses, complete up to 18 hours of approved upper-level coursework (CSCI, DATA, FTA, ITEC, or MATH), and/or apply eligible PLA credits. Graduates leave with a versatile, interdisciplinary skill set designed to support career pathways that require both technical fluency and domain-driven impact.
