The 2023 Georgia Collegiate Honors Conference will be held at Clayton State University in Morrow, Georgia

"Legacies for the Future”

Call for Proposals:

For the 2023 conference, we invite you to submit proposals for academic presentations, academic posters, or visual and performing arts.  

Our goal is to highlight Georgia’s talent and potential, so we invite undergraduate students from all disciplines to submit proposals.

All entries that represent excellent undergraduate work will be considered. Monetary prizes will be awarded for first place ($200) and second place ($100) for papers submitted in each of the three academic categories: Humanities, Social Sciences, and Natural Sciences.

Abstract Requirements:

Academic Presentations: 500-word abstract submitted at www.mga.edu/gchc

Academic Posters: 500-word abstract submitted at www.mga.edu/gchc

Visual and Performing Pieces: for this category, visual and performing art students are invited to submit proposals for original pieces. In addition to a 250-word abstract describing the creative piece, a video of your performance or photographs of your pieces should be emailed (a link is acceptable) to alexanderhall@clayton.edu.

Presentations:

Computer, Projector, and Sound will be available. To avoid technical difficulties, we recommend you save your Powerpoint in a portable and easily accessible format, such as USB Flash Drive. If you need additional equipment, please specify on the Google Form when submitting a proposal.

Posters:

Posters should be printed in advance of the conference. The recommended maximum size for posters is 36" x 48". If you are able, please bring your own poster backing board and easel – if you cannot supply your own backing board and easel, let us know.

Proposals/Abstracts for conference: January 23, 2023
Full Papers for Essay Contest: January 23, 2023

Full essays may be sent to alexanderhall@clayton.edu no later than 1/23/2023 to be entered in the essay contest. Identify your category: Humanities, Social Sciences, or Natural Sciences. Please send your paper only after submitting the proposal. (Note: only students who propose an academic presentation or academic poster may enter the essay/paper competition.)

Friday night will feature a musical performance in Spivey Hall directed by Dr. Kurt Alexander-Zeller, Resident Stage Director of Peach State Opera and Clayton State University’s Director of Opera and Vocal Studies. For Dr. Zeller’s full biography, click here
