Dr. Ken L. Fincher Named VP for University Advancement

Dr. Ken L. Fincher is joining Middle Georgia State University as vice president for University Advancement and executive director of the Middle Georgia State Foundation.

Most recently assistant vice chancellor for Advancement and Community Engagement for Washington State University Tri-Cities, Fincher will oversee Middle Georgia State operations in financial resource development,community engagement and alumni relations.

"Ken Fincher has a wealth of experience in philanthropic leadership and in strengthening organizations by building relationships and resources," said Dr. Christopher Blake, Middle Georgia State president."We are thrilled to add him to the Middle Georgia State team."

A certified fundraising professional, Fincher holds a doctorate in Psychology from the University of the Rockies, a master's in Philanthropy and Development from St. Mary's University and a bachelor's in Social Science from Shorter University.

His career has taken him to Austin, Texas, where he was executive director of the Foundation and senior vice president of Development for the Sears Methodist Retirement System and to Rome, Ga., where he served as vice president of Institutional Advancement at Shorter University. Earlier in his career he held leadership positions at the American Red Cross, USO and Boy Scouts of America.

Fincher is originally from LaGrange, Ga.
