Our four-year Film Production concentration and Film Production minor prepare students to enter the field of film production and Georgia’s film industry, which regularly has an economic impact of more than $4 billion.

Georgia Film Certificate

The certificate in Film Production from the Georgia film Academy (GFA) prepares aspiring filmmakers for the rapidly changing film and television industry.  These courses are offered at GFA facilities in Fayetteville, GA and are taught by GFA instructors.  The certificate can be earned in conjunction with the four-year degree.  More information can be found on the Georgia Film Consortium page.  

 

Film Production Minor

Film production courses emphasize storytelling and screenwriting while continually developing your technical expertise in videography and editing.  These courses can be earned alongside any major.  

 

Career Opportunities

The Film Production concentration prepares students for a wide variety of careers in film and video production and for additional academic coursework in graduate school. Students may pursue career paths in camera, sound, and lighting, such as camera operator, assistant camera, director of photography, grip, sound mixer, best boy, gaffer, and others. Post-production careers include work as an assistant editor, colorist, editor, compositor, sound designer, and visual effects editor. Students interested in producing and directing may pursue work as a production manager, assistant director, line producer, producer, or director.
