Out-of-State Tuition Waivers
Waivers are awarded for one academic year, but some of them can be renewed annually. All students must reapply each year for the requested waiver by the start of the term.
Border State Tuition Waivers are available for Alabama, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee
- Border State for students domiciled in Alabama, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee may qualify for an out of state waiver. Check to see if you meet any of the standards:
- Live in a *Cochran Campus residence hall
- and/or take the majority of their courses on the Cochran campus.

- Note: Once the waiver has been applied to your account you will still be classified as a non-resident of the state of Georgia: however, your account will reflect the waiver via a credit.
*Degree offerings vary by campus and some degrees are not able to be completed on the Cochran campus.
other Out-of-State Tuition Waivers
- Economic Advantage for students whose self or family have relocated to Georgia to accept full-time, self-sustaining employment and have established domicile in Georgia
- Full-Time Public School and Technical College System of Georgia employees or dependents
- Full-Time USG employees or dependents
- Military and Military Connected Students stationed in or assigned to active duty in Georgia (applicable for military spouses and dependents), or former military personnel who have separated from the military (please see waiver form for requirements).
- Non-Resident Students whose parent or court-appointed legal guardian has maintained
domicile in Georgia for at least twelve consecutive months prior to enrollment at the college or students whose spouses have maintaineddomicile in Georgia for at least twelve consecutive months prior to enrollment at the college - Presidential Waivers - Academic and International

In accordance with the University System of Georgia Policy Manual 7.3.4.1, Middle Georgia State University may award out-of-state tuition differential waivers and assess in-state tuition for certain non-Georgia residents in the categories above.
