Middle Georgia State University Juried Student Art Competition Call for Submissions

The Peacock Gallery is calling for entry of artwork from Middle Georgia State University students to the 13th Annual Middle Georgia State University Juried Student Art Exhibition.

For the Cochran & Macon Campuses, entries will be accepted between Monday, March 2 - Wednesday, March 13, 2026 at 11:59 p.m.

Prizes and Reception


Announcement of winners will be made on Thursday, April 9th, between 3:30 - 4:30 p.m., on the Cochran Campus in the Russell Hall Lobby/Peacock Gallery as part of the 2026 Interdisciplinary Student Conference. Winning categories: Best of Show, Best of 2-D, Best of 3-D, Best of Photography/GraphicDesign/Digital Art/Film, as well as the Student Choice Award and Honorable Mentions


Entry Requirements


Any person who has been enrolled as a full-time or part-time student at Middle Georgia State University during the 2025-2026 academic year is eligible to submit artwork that was created after January 1, 2025, that fits into one of the following categories.


Types of artworks accepted are:
Drawing | Painting | Printmaking | Photography | Graphic | Design | Digital Art | Sculpture | Ceramics | Mixed |  Media | Short Films (5 minutes or less)

Works submitted must be original. No master copies, reproductions, or derivatives of another’s artwork, and no copies of photographs may be submitted. No artwork made while in high school may be submitted.

Up to 3 entries per student may be submitted.

Artworks may not exceed the following dimensions: 40” x 40” for 2-D works and 4’ x 4’ x 4’ for 3-D works.

Each digital artwork slide submitted should be properly cropped & framed. Each two-dimensional artwork should include one digital image. Each three-dimensional artwork may include up to three digital images. Each slide file should not exceed 1920 x 1080 pixels, 92 pixels/inch in resolution, & 10 MB in size. Images should be formatted preferably as .jpg/.jpeg files; however, .pdf, .docx, .pptx, .xlsx can be used if necessary. Short Films should not exceed 1.5 GBs and should be rendered out at h.264 in .mp4 or .mov file format. Please fill out the entry information on the Submission Form for each artwork submitted.

Artworks accepted by the juror and submitted to the exhibition must have a completed submission form attached to each work (preferably the back of 2-D works & the bottom of 3-D works). These can be found in Russell Hall, Room 317 on the large table in the back of the room and in the Arts Complex room 236 on the info table next to the sink in the content area.


SPECIAL NOTE: As a juried exhibition, not all works submitted will be selected for the show. Once the submission period is completed, the judge will select which works will be in exhibition. Works that are included in the exhibition should be dropped off on the appropriate campus designated location by the deadline or they will not be included in the exhibition.

This Juried Student Exhibition is funded through student activity fees and is free to all members of the Middle Georgia State University campus community. All artworks submitted to the competition are self-expressions of those who created them and are not intended to represent the ideas or views of the Peacock Gallery, its director, or employees. They do not reflect the views of the Middle Georgia State University faculty, staff, administration, student body, or the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia.

All students submitting artwork, upon submission of the artwork, agree not to hold Middle Georgia State University and the Peacock Gallery liable for any loss, damage, or theft to any artwork submitted, in-whole or part, to the Annual Middle Georgia State University Juried Student Art Exhibition.
