Advising

Note: In the event of a discrepancy between the Middle Georgia State University Catalog and any departmental materials (including Advising Worksheets), the Middle Georgia State University Catalog prevails.

All students must meet with their advisor at least once every year to assist with course selection and academic planning. Many academic programs require specific sequencing in order to reach degree completion in a timely manner. Also, students frequently benefit from guidance in exploring potential majors and coordinating career goals with education opportunities or study aboard programs.

In the School of Arts and Letters, majors who have under 60 credit hours should contact one of the Professional Advisors listed below. History and English majors who are also seeking Secondary Education Certification will be referred to Faculty Program Coordinators in respective Departments. For students admitted in Fall 2023 forward, students will be advised by their professional advisor through graduation unless the student is otherwise directed to a Faculty Program Coordinator.

Please email your advisor and make an appointment (either virtually or in person).
