Experiences Reporting Process

Have you recently completed an internship while being an MGA student? If so, you can easily report your internship through the "Experiences" portal in Handshake and then be eligible to recieve an Internship Honor Cord for graduation! See below for more details!

Reporting Process for “Experiences” on Handshake

  1. Go to mga.joinhandshake.com/experiences (NOTE: If you have not activated your Handshake account, you will need to do so first at mga.joinhandshake.com)
  2. Click on the blue box titled “Request an Experience”
  3. Then, after selecting which term you completed your internship, fill out the form (NOTE: any question with an * next to it is required). After filling out the form, make sure to hit the green “Request Experience” button at the bottom!

After Submitting your Internship in “Experiences”

  • Within 14 days after your Experiences submission is completed you will be contacted via your MGA email address by the Assistant Director for Internships & Career Readiness (Dr. Heather McIntosh) regarding information needed in order to feature you in our “Internship Spotlights” on all CCLD social media channels.
  • In order to also receive a CCLD Internship Cord (Gold and Purple) for commencement, after submitting your internship in Experiences, make sure to schedule an appointment with a CCLD staff member at mga.joinhandshake.com/appointments, selecting “Post-Experiences CCLD Meeting” as your Appointment Type. The purpose of this appointment is to help you reflect on how your internship has prepared your for your career. You will also be asked to fill out a post-internship evaluation at the appointment to help with this reflection. This appointment can be conducted virtually or in-person.
