Human resources specialists recruit, screen, and interview job applicants and place newly hired workers in jobs. They also may handle compensation and benefits, training, and employee relations. Human resources managers plan, coordinate, and direct the administrative functions of an organization. They oversee the recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of new staff; consult with top executives on strategic planning; and serve as a link between an organization’s management and its employees.

Will I be able to find work?

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates job growth in Human Resource Specialist related occupations to increase by 8% between 2021 and 2031, adding 58,800 new jobs.  Typical entry-level education consists of a Bachelor’s degree.  Median pay for 2021 was $62,290 or $29.95 per hour. Human Resource Management related occupations are expected to increase by 7% between 2021 and 2031, adding 12,600 new jobs.  Typical entry-level education consists of a Bachelor’s degree.  Median pay for 2021 was $126,230 or $60.69 per hour.
