  • TOGETHERALL, a free online peer-to-peer platform offering a safe, anonymous space to give and get support, moderated by trained professionals 24/7.
  • BEWELL@MGA provides students with 24/7 free immediate access to teletherapy via a licensed mental health counselor by calling 833-646-1526
  • GEORGIA CRISIS AND ACCESS LINE (GCAL) provides a 24/7 hotline for accessing mental health services in Georgia, by phone at 1-800-715-4225 or visiting them online at www.mygcal.com.
  • CRISIS TEXT LINE is a free 24/7 text line for people in crisis, monitored by trained mental health counselors. Text GA to 741741.

Academic Counseling and Support

  • Student Success Center (SSC) offer tutors (professional and peer certified), online study resources, professional and peer panels, and the opportunity to chat with a tutor.
  • The Writing Center is a free service that provides one-on-one consultations to assist students with all types of writing by providing feedback, offering suggestions, and explaining concepts in grammar and documentation (MLA, APA, Chicago, etc.)
  • MARC, or Mathematics Academic Resource Center is equipped with computers, textbooks, whiteboards, calculators, and study notes to provide students with space to study and receive tutoring in MATH 1000-2000 courses and MATH 3700.  Tutoring can be in person or online, by appointment or walk-in.
  • MGA Library provides access to resources, services, spaces and tools that fulfill students’ information needs.
  • Our Favorite Handouts (University of Texas at Austin's Learning Center): A collection of their most popular handouts in areas such as Study Strategies, Writing, Reading, Math/Science, Graduate Exam/Placement Test Preparation, English as a Foreign Language, and General Interest.
  • Study Skills Self-Help Information (Virginia Tech): A variety of virtual pamphlets on study skills topics.

The Georgia Crisis and Access Line

The Georgia Crisis and Access Line (GCAL) is a 24/7 behavioral health crisis call center operated by Behavioral Health Link through funding from the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities. GCAL provides free and confidential behavioral health crisis intervention and access to behavioral health services. Anyone in Georgia can call GCAL for help for themselves or on behalf of someone else at 800.715.4225 or via the My GCAL app.

Personal Counseling

  • Suicide Prevention Lifeline: When you dial 1.800.273.TALK (8255), you are calling the crisis center in the Lifeline network closest to your location. You will be helped by a skilled, trained crisis worker who will listen to your problems and will tell you about mental health services in your area. Your call is confidential and free.
  • Veterans Crisis Line: The Veterans Crisis Line connects Veterans in crisis and their families and friends with qualified, caring Department of Veterans Affairs responders through a confidential toll-free hotline, online chat, or text. Veterans and their loved ones can call 1.800.273.8255 and Press 1, chat online, or send a text message to 838255 to receive confidential support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Support for deaf and hard of hearing individuals is available.
  • Controlling Anger Before It Controls You: An excellent online brochure at the American Psychological Association Web site.Information from National Institute of Mental Health about the symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment of mental illnesses. Included are brochures and information sheets, reports, press releases, fact sheets, and other educational materials.
  • Go Ask Alice: Columbia University's Health Question and Answer Service, has answers to real questions you may have about: Sexuality, Sexual Health, Relationships, Drugs and Alcohol, Fitness and Nutrition, and Emotional Well-Being, and General Health.
  • Internet Mental Health: "A free encyclopedia of mental health information" that aims to "promote improved understanding, diagnosis, and treatment of mental illness throughout the world." NOTE: a commercial site.
  • Mental Health Net: A guide to mental health, psychology, and psychiatry on-line. "The home of the oldest and largest online mental health guide and community." Links to disorders and treatments, professional resources, reading material, and more. NOTE: a commercial site.
  • PsychWeb: "Contains lots of psychology-related information for students and teachers of psychology." This page contains links to non-commercial self-help sites organized by disorder, brochures and articles related to psychology (many of which are related to self-help issues), commercial psychology-related sites on the web, psychology departments on the web, psychology journals on the web, other mega lists of psychology resources, and scholarly psychology resources on the web.
