Federal and State Grants and Scholarships
Grants are awarded based solely on financial need. Grants do not have to be repaid unless, for example, you are awarded funds incorrectly or you withdraw and owe a refund.
Federal Pell Grant
Pell Grants are the foundation of federal student aid, to which aid from other federal and nonfederal sources might be added. Pell Grants are generally awarded only to students who have not obtained a baccalaureate degree.
Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)
FSEOG is awarded to undergraduate students with exceptional financial need. Federal Pell Grant recipients receive priority. Since there are limited funds available, you should make sure that you apply by the published priority deadline each year.
HOPE Grant
Georgia's HOPE Grant (a separate program from the HOPE Scholarship) is available to Georgia residents who are working towards a certificate or diploma (continuing education programs are not eligible) at an eligible college or university in Georgia.
Students who receive HOPE Grant or Zell Miller Grant funding for an eligible program at an Eligible College will have all paid hours count towards the student’s HOPE or Zell Miller Grant 63 Paid-Hours limit and the grades earned will count towards the student’s HOPE or Zell Miller Grant GPA. Credit hours paid by HOPE or Zell Miller Grant will also count towards the HOPE and/or Zell Miller Scholarship 127 Combined-Paid hours limit.

Zell Miller Grant
Georgia's Zell Miller Grant is available to Georgia residents who are working towards a certificate or diploma at a Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) or University System of Georgia (USG) institution.
Students who receive HOPE Grant or Zell Miller Grant funding for an eligible program at an Eligible College will have all paid hours count towards the student’s HOPE or Zell Miller Grant 63 Paid-Hours limit and the grades earned will count towards the student’s HOPE or Zell Miller Grant GPA. Credit hours paid by HOPE or Zell Miller Grant will also count towards the HOPE and/or Zell Miller Scholarship 127 Combined-Paid hours limit.

HOPE Career Grant
The HOPE Career Grant is available to HOPE Grant-qualified students who enroll in select majors specifically aligned with industries in which there are more jobs available in Georgia than there are skilled workers to fill them. These industries have been identified as strategically important to the state’s economic growth.

Georgia College Completion Grant (GCCG)
The Georgia College Completion Grant (GCCG) assists eligible students enrolled at an eligible postsecondary institution that is experiencing a financial aid gap with their cost of education.
Eligible students must have completed at least eighty (80) percent of credit requirements for graduation from their enrolled certificate, diploma or undergraduate major or program of study. Eligible students must owe their institution an outstanding balance of direct costs for the current term of enrollment.
Grant awards are based on program requirements and available allocated funds at the eligible institutions - University System of Georgia (USG), Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) or eligible Private non-profit postsecondary institutions in Georgia. The lifetime maximum limit a student can receive in the Georgia College Completion Grant is $2,500.

Public Safety Memorial Grant
The Georgia Public Safety Memorial (GPSM) Grant provides grant funds to the dependent children of Georgia Public Safety Officers (law enforcement officers, firefighters, emergency medical technicians, paramedics, highway emergency response operators (HERO) and prison guards) who were permanently disabled or killed in the line of duty. Funds may be used towards the cost of attendance at eligible colleges, universities or technical colleges in Georgia. For more information, visit https://gafutures.org .

Georgia HERO Scholarship Program
Georgia HERO Scholarship program provides educational scholarship assistance to members of the Georgia National Guard and U.S. Military Reservists who served in combat zones, and the children and the spouses of such members of the Georgia National Guard and U.S. Military Reserves.
