Housing Contract
Students will sign their contract as part of their application processes. Once signed, the students will receive the signed copy via their MGA email account. An example of that contract can be viewed here.
Cancellations
There is no penalty for housing cancellations received before the cancellation deadline. The deadline to cancel a Fall assignment is July 10th, and the deadline to cancel a Spring assignment is December 10th. The cancellation must be received in writing to the Housing Office. Cancellations received after the cancellation deadline (July 10th/December 10th) will be subject to a $500.00 cancellation fee in lieu of the full amount of the housing cost.
Cancellation Procedure

To apply for a cancellation, please do so through the StarRez Housing Portal. Log into your SWORDS account. Follow the path below then proceed with the instructions given below.
Under the menu entitled Student Information > click StarRez Housing Portal and on the next page click > Login (top right-hand corner) > Scroll down to click MGA-Student SSO Login.
From the home page ,
- Click Forms
- Review the cancellation policy to ensure you qualify.
- Click Continue With My Request
- Select Cancellation from the drop down box under Form Selector.
- Select the term you are requesting an exemption for.
- For Fall 2025, Click Apply/Continue next to Academic Year 2025-2026.
- Select your cancellation reason from the drop down box and upload supporting documentation (Documentation needed for the cancellation reason is located on the table).

- 21 years or older by the first day of classes
- Have attained 60 or more earned credit hours
- Exclusively taking all coursework fully online
- Transferring to another institution
- No longer attending MGA (Please make sure that you are no longer registered for classes. If so, please contact the Registrar’s Office or your advisor for assistance.)
- Graduating
- Click Submit. Once you see the submitted page, click Save and Continue and then click Log Out once you arrive at the home page where you started.
**Please ensure you include all necessary documentation (if your cancellation reason requires supporting documentation), as missing documents could result in the denial of your cancellation request.
Housing Contract Appeals
Appeals regarding housing charges, cancellation fees, fines, etc. must be submitted to the Assistant Director of Housing within 30 days of notification or charges posting to student accounts.
