Risk Management

Safety is everyone's responsiblity and with vigilance and teamwork we are assured success.

How to Save a Life

Every second counts in saving the majority of people from sudden cardiac death. Having trained personnel that are capable of employing physical chest compressions that are a part of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and if needed, a defibrillator could mean the difference between life and death.

Dr. Charles Matson Associate Professor of Respiratory Therapy, teamed up with Risk Management to provide vital training to Middle Georgia State University's Building Coordinators. The training included hands only CPR, automated external defibrillator (AED) use, and discussion of safety checkpoints specific to disasters that are most likely to occur on a University Campus. Building Coordinators are a team composed of Middle Georgia State University's very own faculty and staff that have volunteered to lead the way in the event of a disaster. They are all truly Knights in shining armor. The Risk management team would like to thank you all for your service, and would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Charles Matson for providing our team with this life saving training!
