Organizations
Natural Science Network - Macon Campus
This student organization strives to build a community among students and faculty in the science disciplines. Students are involved in many activities including field excursions, community service projects, and learning about science careers. Please contact Dr. Christine Rigsby , current advisor to the club for further information.
The Science Club - Cochran Campus
The Science Club is a group interested in exploring the world through the lens of science. Our monthly meetings often involve cool experiments like exploding gummy bears and elephant toothpaste while our trips take us to places like the CDC museum and Sapelo Island on the Georgia Coast. We regularly participate in on-campus events like Fall Festival and often host our own like the Bioethics Debate, Bug Night and NeuroNight. Science Club also provides a forum for students to meet with admissions representatives from colleges throughout the state including GRU MCG, Mercer, UGA and PCOM so that they can better prepare themselves when applying to professional programs in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, veterinary medicine or graduate school. In addition, membership allows students to participate in club projects like the Greenhouse Plant Sale, the Biofuel project, building trebuchets and sending weather balloons into space! The club also participates in many campus wide initiatives like the GAMES blood drive, canned food drive and SGA events. Anyone with an interest in science is welcome and encouraged to participate.
