Adult Learning at MGA
Middle Georgia State University is committed to serving the needs of adult learners, and nearly one-third of our students are adult learners. We provide the academic programs, flexible schedules, online options, and economic value adult learners want and need.
As an adult learner, you know that a university degree is not just for young adults. Today’s workers and mid-career professionals change jobs and responsibilities every few years. To be successful and to grow professionally, you will need more training and more certifications. Middle Georgia State University will help you be prepared for the challenges of a changing world.
Some adult learners come to us as first-time college students, while others are returning to school, often after several years away. We provide assistance to all adult learners, no matter what your prior educational experience. For students who may want to boost their skills before enrolling, the University System of Georgia offers FreeCore - non-credit, tuition-free courses in areas such as English Composition, Economics, College Math, and Spanish. Courses are available in August and January. More information can be found at FreeCore.
If you are a returning student and had a rough start when you first attended, we offer an Academic Renewal process that can help you to recover from past academic struggles. We also provide comprehensive Veterans and Military Services for those who have worn the uniform of our country.
Some adult learners may wish to begin a new graduate degree designed for the working adult and career-track employees. Further information on these degrees can be found by visiting the Office of Graduate Studies. With many graduate programs offered completely online, you can complete a master’s degree for about $10,000. Take a look to compare Undergraduate Tuition and Graduate Tuition. The Office of Admissions provides a Net Price Calculator tool that helps you to determine the costs of pursuing a degree at any level.
MGA does, in fact, deliver some of the least expensive degrees in the University System of Georgia. And the lifelong value of a college education in salary cannot be overlooked. Calculate your earning potential by reviewing this link.
