All payments returned due to insufficient funds (NSF) are subject to an insufficient funds penalty fee of $30. In addition, the "stop payment" of a check or other form of payment does not constitute an official withdrawal from Middle Georgia State and will also result in the assessment of an NSF penalty fee.

At the start of the semester or part-of-term session, disbursement of financial aid funds to student accounts will occur after the drop/add period has ended and no-show reporting has been finalized. Per federal regulations, refunds of remaining credit balances are released no later than 14 calendar days after posting of financial aid disbursements to student accounts. Following this period, refunds are processed weekly.

It can take up to 30 days for your student account to reflect the payment you made to a collection agency. Your collection hold will only be removed once we receive your payment from the collection agency. Our office receives collection agency payments on a monthly basis.

Once your account has been placed with a collection agency, you must pay your balance directly to the collection agency. Your account cannot be recalled so that you don't have to pay the collection cost.

As long as there is a credit on your account, you will be issued a refund within 14 days of receipt of the payment creating the credit.

Plan adjustments are allowed within the enrollment deadlines up to the maximum amount allowed by Nelnet. MGA will upload increase/decrease balance amounts to Nelnet for plan adjustments during the allowable time frame. However, you should review your agreement balance online through com to confirm that your balance is correct.
