MGA’s success is built on the knowledge, experience, and innovation of its employees. Full-time faculty and staff are invited to contribute to the Professional Development Initiative by developing courses for the MGA community.
Benefits of Becoming a Course Developer
Selected course developers receive:
- Up to $1,000 per approved course
- Instructional design and technical support from CETL
- Recognition as an MGA Professional Development Course Developer
All completed courses become lasting institutional resources that support current and future employees while strengthening MGA’s professional development ecosystem.
Application Process at a Glance
1. Develop a Course Proposal
Identify a topic aligned with USG and MGA strategic goals and priorities. Applicants must demonstrate subject matter expertise and should have prior experience with Brightspace/D2L or be willing to complete CETL training.
2. Submit Your Application
Applications are submitted through the Office of Human Resources and must include:
- Course proposal (1-2 pages)
- CV or Summary of Relevant Expertise (1 page)
Team applications consisting of two (2) to three (3) collaborators are encouraged.

3. Collaborative Review
Applications will be reviewed by a committee appointed by the Office of Human Resources and CETL using the following criteria:

4. Build and Launch Your Course
Course developers work with CETL to build their courses in Brightspace/D2L using a standardized course template designed to ensure consistency and quality.
Developers should anticipate spending approximately 20–25 hours completing the course development and build process.
