MISSION STATEMENT AND VALUES

The Knights' Table is dedicated to creating a hunger-free campus by providing access to food, identifying and addressing the causes of food insecurity, and mobilizing resources to combat food insecurity.

Managed by the Division of Student Affairs and our Student Care Case Manager, the Knights’ Table reflects MGA’s commitment to its core values including stewardship. It also reflects MGA's commitment to the “Common Good” and to those we serve while engaging in the community to build resources and increase adaptability for students facing financial and food insecurity while in higher education, further supporting the state’s Complete College Georgia initiative, which encourages colleges and universities to identify and to remove barriers that stand in the ways of student success.

PROCESS AND LOCATION

The Knights’ Table works to provide food and personal hygiene products to currently enrolled students, staff, and faculty at MGA who are in need. We have two on-campus food pantries located in room 282 of the Student Life Center on the Macon Campus and Welch Hall on the Cochran Campus. Students, staff, and faculty can visit the pantry in-person during our posted hours of operation or request a pre-packaged food bag or personal care kit to be made for them that can be picked up from our lockers located on each campus.

Process:

  1. We ask that all individuals using the food pantry complete the Knights' Table Intake Form once a year. This form allows us to better meet the needs of the MGA community.
  2. For in-person visits, select what items you need and a staff member will assist you with checking the items out of our inventory. If a staff member is not present, please complete the sign-in sheet before leaving the pantry. All you will need is your student ID for the check out process.
  3. For online food bag requests, complete the Food Pantry Request Form and make sure to check your emails for updates on when your food bag will be ready and where to pick it up from.
  4. Don't forget to give us feedback by completing our anonymous Knights' Table Evaluation and Feedback Form
