Mission

The mission of the Department of Respiratory Therapy and Health Sciences is to provide a quality education that prepares competent respiratory care professionals.

Accreditation

The Respiratory Therapy Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).

Graduates will be eligible to take the Certification Respiratory Therapy (CRT) exam. Those graduates who meet the lower cut score will be credentialed as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT). Those who meet the higher cut score will be eligible to take the Clinical Simulation Exam (SAE). Upon successful completion of the CSE, the graduate will be a Registered Respiratory Therapist. All credentialing exams are administered by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC). Application must be made for State Licensure (Georgia State Composite Medical Board) to work in the State of Georgia.
