TEAS Exam
The Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) is a standardized entrance exam for students applying to nursing and health programs in the United States.

Yes, you can apply to the ASN and the BSN programs during the same application period. BSN applicants are reviewed first. If an applicant is accepted into the BSN program, their ASN application is not considered.

Applicants will be notified of admission decisions via email. The notifications
generally, are sent approximately one month after the application deadline.

No, MGA’s nursing program does not require applicants to have a CNA certification.
The Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) is a standardized entrance exam for students applying to nursing and health programs in the United States.
A 64 is required for ASN admission and 68 for PL-BSN admission.
The TEAS exam may be taken at MGA or any testing location/center that offers the exam:
If you complete the TEAS entrance exam at MGA, the Department of Nursing Admissions Coordinator has access to your score(s).
However, if you complete the entrance exam at another location or online, you must indicate that you want your score(s) to be sent to MGA.
There is no restriction to the number of entrance exam attempts. The highest score will be considered in the application review process.

Yes, there is an advantage to taking core classes at MGA. The Department of Nursing offers an Elite Early Assurance program. Students who participate in this program receive the following benefits throughout their academic journey:
Yes, you may repeat core courses if you fail at the first attempt. It is advisable to avoid failing courses to ensure a strong application.
The general rule is that nursing courses do not transfer. MGA does not accept nursing courses for undergraduate program applicants.
No, Anatomy and Physiology courses do not “expire” at MGA for admission into the nursing program.
Most MGA nursing courses with a clinical component do include a clinical calculations exam prior to attending clinical in the healthcare setting. Students have 3 opportunities to pass the clinical calculations exam.
Students may exempt the NURS 1000(ASN) / NURS 3001(BSN) clinical calculation exam if the student enrolls in the MGA NURS 1003 Clinical Calculations course prior to starting the nursing program and meets the requirements for exemption.
A 74 average is required to pass a nursing course.
