Occupational therapy assistants make a difference in people’s lives by helping them be as independent as possible when physical, psychological, or social challenges prevent them from doing everyday things that give their lives meaning. They work with clients from newborn to older adults in a variety of settings, including hospitals, rehabilitation centers, schools, and nursing homes.
Fast Facts:
- Cohorts begin each fall
- All classes offered on the Cochran campus only; all classes are face-to-face
- 4 Semesters
- Application Deadline: May 15
- 30 students per cohort*
- Final semester is level II Fieldwork and may require travel by the student
- Associate of Science in Occupational Therapy Assistant awarded by Middle Georgia State University
*May be 25 during COVID-19 pandemic due to limitations in fieldwork sites
Admission Requirements:
- Completed Application Process to MGA
- Pre-requisite courses completed with a “C” or better
- GPA of 2.75 or above is required
- Background check
