Nondiscrimination Statement
The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Program at Middle Georgia State University (MGA) fully adheres to all University System of Georgia (USG) and MGA nondiscrimination and equal opportunity policies. In alignment with Section 6.6 and Section 4.1.7 of the Policy Manual of the Board of Regents (BOR), and consistent with federal and state laws and regulations, the PTA Program is committed to maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment that upholds the dignity of every member of the University community.
No individual shall be excluded from participation in, denied the benefits of, or otherwise subjected to discrimination, harassment, or retaliation in any program, activity, or employment practice of the PTA Program or Middle Georgia State University on the basis of age, color, disability, genetic information, national origin, race, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, veteran status, or any other protected status under federal or state law. The program likewise does not grant preferential treatment based on any protected characteristic, except where required or permitted by law (for example, veteran status).
Furthermore, the PTA Program affirms MGA’s commitment to full compliance with Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and all other applicable federal and state nondiscrimination statutes. These protections extend to all aspects of academic and clinical education, including recruitment, admission, classroom instruction, clinical placements, advising, and evaluation.
