Yellow Ribbon Program

Yellow Ribbon Image

This program allows institutions of higher learning (degree-granting institutions) in the United States to voluntarily enter into an agreement with VA to help with tuition expenses that exceed the resident tuition and fees. Strengthening its commitment to veterans who want to pursue college degrees, Middle Georgia State University sought and received continued designation as a Yellow Ribbon School for the 2023-2024 academic year.

In order to receive Yellow Ribbon Funds, student(s) must meet all of the following requirements:

  • Student must be able to submit proof that he/she is eligible for Chapter 33/Post 9/11 at the 100% benefit level to qualify.

  • Student must be charged out-of-state tuition rates because he/she does not meet the criteria for in-state residency or other out-of-state tuition waivers.

  • Student must be in a degree-seeking program at Middle Georgia State University.

At Middle Georgia State University the Yellow Ribbon funds will help cover some of the out-of-state tuition costs. Yellow Ribbon is given on a first come, first serve basis. Middle Georgia State University will award a one-time $500.00 scholarship to 4 participants and the VA will match that amount.
