Center for Cybersecurity Education and Applied Research (CCEAR)
The Middle Georgia State University Center for Cybersecurity Education and Applied Research (CCEAR) will support the University’s mission to educate and graduate inspired, lifelong learners whose scholarship and careers enhance the region and the state. The mission of CCEAR is to educate the future cybersecurity workforce and provide consultation to local businesses, governmental units, and interested parties. The objective of CCEAR is to provide an avenue for education and research in information assurance, computer network security, digital forensics, cryptography, risk assessment and mitigation, disaster recovery and management, security regulations and compliance, and information security management.
As part of its commitment to educating students and members of the community, Middle Georgia State University CCEAR has committed itself to provide quality education in research in the key cybersecurity areas of information assurance, computer network security, digital forensics, cryptography, risk assessment, and mitigation, disaster recovery and management, security regulations and compliance, and information security management.
The Center for Cybersecurity Education and Applied Research resides within the Department of Information Technology, located in the Professional Sciences Center on the main campus of Middle Georgia State University.
As a part of its commitment to the education of professionals in all areas of cyber defense, Middle Georgia State University is now recognized by the National Security Agency (NSA) as a Center for Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education (CAE-CD).
