Note: In the event of a discrepancy between the Middle Georgia State University Catalog and any departmental materials (including Advising Worksheets), the Middle Georgia State Catalog prevails.

All students must meet with their advisor at least once every year to assist with course selection and academic planning. Many academic programs require specific sequencing to reach degree completion promptly. Also, students frequently benefit from guidance in exploring potential majors and coordinating career goals with education opportunities or study abroad programs.

This web page will serve as a type of portal to make it easy for students to access the resources needed during Advising and Registration. Provided to the right are important links to assist students with the processes.

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics offers several options for students to take courses. These include Traditional Courses, Computer Assisted Courses, Partially-Online Courses, and Online Courses. Students enrolled in partially online or online courses will receive information about how to access the course in their Middle Georgia State University student email. The Technical Assistance Center can assist students having trouble with their email.

  • Traditional Courses are fully taught in a face-to-face classroom environment. Most of these courses are supplemented by online materials and resources.
  • Partially-Online Courses are taught completely online except for proctored testing. Approximately once per month, students must come to the campus for in-class testing.
  • Online Courses are taught completely online with no mandatory class meetings. An optional orientation is usually offered.
  • Computer Assisted Courses are courses taught in a computer classroom. The primary instruction is delivered through computer software. The instructor provides individualized attention by answering student questions as they occur.
